Friday’s Headlines: City Council Legislation Edition

Two important bills passed the City Council on Thursday. You can read about both in Streetsblog.

Intro. 31 makes the city’s Covid outdoor dining program permanent — albeit in a scaled back form that will revert curbside eateries back to parking for four months of the year.

Intro. 289, meanwhile, mandates the city create an interactive map that provides New Yorkers with “current conditions” for bike lanes and greenways across the five boroughs — because everyone deserves to know as much as possible about their commute, and the city already collects much of relevant information.

Both bills await Mayor Adams’s signature.
