Monday’s Headlines: The Editor as Hero Edition
Against my better judgment, I gave the entire staff the day off today, which I guarantee you, is going to turn out to have been a mistake when all hell breaks loose.
But until then, here’s some of the news from the weekend:
- Our pals Charles Komanoff and “Gridlock” Sam Schwartz were widely quoted in Business Insider‘s big explainer on congestion pricing.
- The Post was all excited because a guy on an e-bike ran into a guy on an e-skateboard.
- Crime is down, but we’re still worried about it. (NYDN)
- A “stray” bullet caused injuries to several bus passengers. (NY Post)
- Funny how the Daily News did a story about the spate of lithium-ion battery fires, yet didn’t mention that the mayor and City Council failed to put any money in the budget for the much-touted battery buyback program.
- The Times finally did the obit of Michael Horodniceanu, who was a longtime MTA capital construction executive.
