This Week: 111th Street, Riders Alliance on Transit in 2017
Last month DOT revealed its compromise plan to redesign 111th Street in Corona. To appease Assembly Member Francisco Moya, DOT watered down its proposed safety improvements, but the project retains essential features like shorter pedestrian crossings and a two-way protected bike lane along Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Tomorrow DOT will present the current plan to the Queens Community Board 4 transportation committee.

- Tuesday: DOT presents its latest plan for 111th Street to the Queens CB 4 transportation committee. 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: The Transportation Alternatives Upper Manhattan committee meets to plan bike rides and organize campaigns to make uptown streets safer. 6:30 p.m.
- Also Wednesday: Riders Alliance hosts “Where Do We Go from Here: Albany, Washington and Transit After the Election,” to discuss the group’s priorities for the coming year. Speakers will include State Senator Brad Hoylman and Tri-State Transportation Campaign Executive Director Veronica Vanterpool. There will be food and drinks. RSVP requested.
