This Week: Rally for Safe Streets on Staten Island’s North Shore
With major development projects slated for the north shore of Staten Island, activists are pressing the city to reimagine Richmond Terrace, where more than two hundred people have been injured in traffic since 2012, as a safe street for walking and biking. A rally to “Complete the Terrace” highlights the slate of events on the calendar this week.

- Wednesday: Rally for a safer, multi-modal Richmond Terrace at the corner of Port Richmond Avenue. 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday: NYMTC will recommend which transportation projects around the region should receive federal funding over the next few years. 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Brooklyn’s Times Plaza isn’t doomed to be a lifeless public space severed from its surroundings by all the traffic on Flatbush, Atlantic, and Fourth. A pop-up plaza aims to demonstrate the possibilities. 3 p.m.
