Congratulations to Sheldon Baker, Our Dahon Bike Winner

A belated thanks to all the loyal readers who contributed to Streetsblog's spring pledge drive. Your donations raised nearly $30,000 for reporting and commentary in support of livable streets.

A belated thanks to all the loyal readers who contributed to Streetsblog’s spring pledge drive. Your donations raised nearly $30,000 for reporting and commentary in support of livable streets.

Our grand prize winner, who took home a Dahon folding bike, is Sheldon Baker. Sheldon is an urban planning grad student living in Brooklyn who had never biked in NYC before, but with a new lane striped outside his house and the Dahon in hand, he says “the cosmos” is aligning to put him on a bike.

Many thanks to Dahon for donating the bike, Bike Habitat for assembling it, and all our sponsors who donated prizes — Planet Bike, Forest City Portage, Belle Helmets, Yardstash, and Elly Blue.

Most of all we’re indebted to our readers and donors, who keep us going every day.
