Two Pedestrians Killed in 12 Hours

We've received a report from a reliable source that a pedestrian was killed by a driver on Classon Avenue in Brooklyn, the second pedestrian fatality since last night. The crash occurred near the intersection of Classon and Fulton Street, just before 6:00 this morning. We're following up with the police for more information.

We’ve received a report from a reliable source that a pedestrian was killed by a driver on Classon Avenue in Brooklyn, the second pedestrian fatality since last night. The crash occurred near the intersection of Classon and Fulton Street, just before 6:00 this morning. We’re following up with the police for more information.

Last night in Queens, another New Yorker lost her life while walking. As reported in the Daily News, a driver turning from 63rd Road onto Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills hit a 58-year-old woman crossing the street. The driver continued forward, dragging the woman underneath the car, until someone ran out into the street to alert him, according to the News. The driver is not expected to be charged.

UPDATE: The NYPD have confirmed the details of this morning’s fatal crash. The collision took place just after 5:00 this morning, just north of the intersection of Fulton and Classon. A 26-year-old male driver was traveling north on Classon when he struck a man in his 60s crossing Classon from west to east. The pedestrian was killed and the driver, who remained at the scene, was taken to Kings County Hospital for his injuries. There is no criminality suspected at this time, according to the police.

The NYPD also confirmed the News’ report of last night’s fatal crash. The driver turned left from 63rd onto Yellowstone and hit a pedestrian crossing Yellowstone. “There appears to be no criminality at this time,” say the police.
