Citi Bike Map Now Shows Over 100 New Stations Coming Soon
New York City's bike-share expansion is almost here. Citi Bike has added more than 100 new stations to its system map in Brooklyn, Long Island City, and between 59th Street and 86th Street in Manhattan. While it's difficult to assess station density with much detail from eyeballing the map, you can see that parts of the Upper West Side, Upper East Side, and Bed-Stuy have thinner station spacing than is typical in the rest of the system.

Levine and Rodriguez Press DOT to Implement West Harlem Bus Lanes ASAP
Transit advocates and Upper Manhattan elected officials gathered this morning at the corner of Amsterdam Avenue and 125th Street to urge DOT to extend bus lanes on 125th Street to West Harlem as soon as possible.

NYC’s Taxi Regulations Are Obsolete. How Should They Change?
The de Blasio administration's proposed slowdown in new for-hire vehicle licenses for a one-year study period could be the opening move in a major rewrite of the rules governing the city's taxi and livery industry. The current system is an anachronism, and a big overhaul could harmonize the city's growing array of medallion taxis, green cabs, and Uber-type services in a way that lessens the need for private car ownership without contributing to congestion in the city core. Eyes on the Street: Third Avenue Bus Island Nears Completion
Pedestrians and bus riders at one of the most dangerous intersections in Midtown now have a bit more breathing room. Work on a block-long pedestrian island on Third Avenue is complete, providing space for pedestrians between drivers turning right onto 57th Street and traffic heading uptown.
